Entry for September 14, 2008- A Champagne Toast

All I can say about this Champagne tonight is yum! The Gonet-Medeville Blanc de Noirs Premier Cru was a recent addition to my wine refrigerator (my apartment's cellar!) and I decided to open it to toast my husband who had a successful business venture today. yay! The wine has an intense golden almost apple color with a ton of bubbles jumping around in the glass. The nose was toasty and vibrant as a 100% Pinot Noir wine should be and tasted rich and fruity yet with a nice subtle finish. This makes you understand the difference between a real Champagne and a sparkling wine. You get a roundness and intensity that fills your mouth and has you wanting more. I was able to grab this fabulous wine at the mere cost of $29 from Winestilsoldout.com Today, the lowest price is around $45. I wish I would have bought more than 2 bottles. If you see this wine.. get some while it lasts.
Cheers,
The Wining Woman
