I had a wine lastnight that was so delicious I have already had some more bottles put away for me at Italian Wine Merchants. It's the Mille Una Rosso dei Cavalieri Negroamaro 2006 - Puglia , Italy. The negroamaro grape is a classic grape of this part of southern Italy. While the word amaro means bitter, this wine was anything but bitter. It had tons of sour cherry fruit and good earthiness but was so balanced that nothing was overpowering. It was good from start to finish and the finish was longlasting. A definite winner. Cost only $18.
Cheers,
