Entry for May 27, 2008- Half bottle heaven!

My husband's away and while I planned not to have any wine lastnight before I head off to New Orleans for a week of tons of tastings, by the time dinner rolled around my tune had changed. Thankfully, I had a 375ml bottle of the Cantina del Taburno Falanghina 2005 from Campania, Italy. A light and refreshing white with a slight fizz on the tongue. A minimal amount of sweetness and good acidity wer e  perfect complements to my shrimp with lime and cilantro, quacamole, chips and salsa. When I bought the wine, I had expected a full size bottle but, I am now glad it was a half. It would have been a real waste to have opened a full bottle of this delicious wine only to pour away any leftovers. (Chances are there wouldn't have been any and I would be a bit worse for wear today.) The cost of the 375ml bottles is approx $11. It does come in full size bottles as well.

Well, off to New Orleans... bye for now.

Cheers,
