I was having dinner that was pretty much Italian ..(sausage, tomatoes and some pasta) and so wanted an Italian wine although I didn't want anything too heavy. I opened the Bricco del Bosco Accornero 2005 - a Piedmont red. Wow! I have had an Accornero dessert wine recently but didn't know what this would be about. It's 100% Grignolino del Monferrato - the color of which was so light I thought it was a rose except the label says "red." I smelled tons of strawberry and sour cherry along with some pepper. On the palate, the wine exploded with those same sour cherry notes and finished so smoothly and easily. My husband thought this would be a perfect summer sipper...light, fruity and delicious.Cost approx: $17.00
