I love wine! That's all there is to it. And, I want everyone to love it too. There
are so many ways to enjoy wine. It enhances and enriches one's life.

I began studying wine  at the Cordon Bleu school in London, England where
I lived for 6 years. In that time, I dined at numerous restaurants with
fantastic wines and helpful sommeliers. This encouraged me to further
educate myself about the wonderful world of wine. I thought I would pursue a
career as a Sommelier. I quickly found out that a Sommelier is not the right
position for a parent of a young child as they are regularly working past
midnight!

After moving back to New York in 2001, I continued my education by
taking more wine courses and attending as many tastings and events as I
possibly could. I found a greater sense of how important it is to enjoy life
and pursue my dreams as I was moving into my new home in Battery Park
City, New York..move in day.. September 11, 2001. Needless to say, we did
not make it in that day and after 6 weeks at a hotel in Jersey City, NJ my
then 6 year old son, convinced me to move to  Battery Park City  anyway.
He helped me get through that sadness and realize how important it is to
live! And, with that in mind, wine is part of that living!

In the summer of 2002, my soon to be husband and I took a beautiful trip to
the Rhone Valley in France with my aunt and uncle (also lovers of wine!)
We met our now friend, John Sherwin, owner of FrenchWinetours who
prepared  an individualized trip for us as a special educational introduction
to the vineyards of France. We tasted wine out of barrels in the caves, met
the local wine makers who are lovely old time farmers with rosy cheeks and
plaid shirts, and had feasts with jugs and jugs of local wines that cost a
mere few euros. It was a marvelous way to get a feel for   this industry.

I have been fortunate to meet some wonderful people in the business who have
given me the opportunity to not only  taste some fabulous wines but to
understand and appreciate them as well without any of the pretense. I have
worked  with HG Marketing, PJ Wines, Quantum Wines, Wines of
Argentina. I have helped organize Grand Tastings and special reserve
seminars such as Dom Perignon and Sherries of the World.

I am presently working as a freelance consultant to help with any wine
related service. I work with the trade, consumers and companies to create
wine tastings, events and classes. I have started Wine Travelers' School
with my partner from French-wine-tours. Our trips combine touring the wine
country (presently available in Bordeaux or Burgundy) with specially
designed wine classes. I am the founding President of the New Jersey
Chapter of
Women For Winesense, a national non-profit wine organization
that promotes the positive aspects of wine through educational tastings and
events. I received the 2007 Rising Star Award from Women For Winesense
at the Wines Women Want Grand Tasting event in San Francisco.

I am a Certified Specialist of Wine with the Society of Wine Educators as
well as member of the American Wine Society. Presently, I am producing a
new wine tv show and running Zita Keeley's Wine School - a series of wine
appreciation courses.
